It was an absolute dream to end 2017 with Kristyn and Jon's wedding at The Cliffs at Glassy. It had just snowed the week before, so there were still remnants of a rare December snow in the South for their wedding...and it was stunning. And wait until you see the sunset photos that Hannah Woodard captured...SO GOOD.
My absolute favorite moment from this wedding was the processional and Ceremony. Every single groomsman and bridesmaid were smiling from ear to ear. Jon was ecstatic, and Kristyn was so calm and joyful. After we got the wedding party down the aisle, we prepped for sending Kristyn and her dad down the aisle. The ceremony musicians started singing "I Get to Love You" by Ruelle, and as soon as the chorus hit, we opened the chapel doors for Kristyn and her dad. It was such an incredible moment that was built up with much anticipation. Kristyn and Jon exchanged their own personal vows during the ceremony. The prayers were sincere and meaningful. You could literally feel their love for each other in the ambiance of the entire Ceremony. It was beautiful.
The Reception was also beautiful with shades of burgundy, blush, and gold. After guests ate plated meals, the Matron of Honor and Best Man gave sweet toasts, then Kristyn & Jon cut their cake...and finally, the dance floor filled up and stayed full and lively the remainder of the evening. Since this was a December wedding, we arranged for Atlanta Special FX to bring a snow machine for Kristyn & Jon's send-off. Uptown Entertainment continued the music outside with Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You" as Kristyn and Jon walked through the snow, got in a vintage Silver Rolls Royce, and left for their honeymoon.
I'll let Kristyn tell you more...
How did you two meet? Jon and I met at Vizion Church in Charlotte, N.C. We were both in college. I led worship, and he was a drummer.
How long have you been together? 3 years
What was your favorite moment and/or detail from your wedding? My favorite moment from our wedding was walking down the aisle for the first time as Mr. and Mrs.!
How was your experience working with us for your wedding? Our wedding was absolutely perfect, and it was all possible because of Shannon and the Bespoken Team. From mid-week calls and encouragement to day-of details and timely planning, Bespoken made wedding planning stress-free and a truly wonderful experience. I didn't just feel like a number or a "job," my husband, our guests, our families and I all felt genuinely cared for, cheered on and so at ease. Not only that, we feel like we've made a lifelong friend. You can't put a value on peace of mind while you're planning, but the relationship we built with Shannon and her team was truly invaluable!!!
What would you have done differently during your planning process? I would have contacted Bespoken sooner! I started out on the wedding planning journey alone, and while I believe I found the most perfect vendors, I could have certainly used Shannon's creativity and attention to detail during those early months of planning.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience? Phenomenal! Would do it 1,000 times again! The last months leading up to the big day, the day of, and even the days after were, honestly, care and worry free. I did not have to stress about a thing! Being able to be present on your wedding day and soak in all the details, knowing everything is being handled flawlessly, is truly the best feeling a bride can have!
Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting, or would you have done it differently? Tell us why and why not! We did not see each other before the wedding, and we don't regret it! Having the anticipation of the big reveal at the aisle, made the emotions so raw, sweet and memorable.
Tell us about your dress! Where did you find it, how did you choose it, and how did you know it is the one? I found my dress at Poffie Girls in Gastonia, N.C. It is a sheer, long-sleeved gown with lots of pretty details by Justin Alexander. I always knew I wanted sleeves, and the intricate details that went into making the dress reminded me of the beautiful details of my and my husband's relationship. It was the third dress I tried; so, I guess three times a charm!
What were you most anxious, nervous, or fearful about regarding your wedding day, and what was the outcome? I was most nervous about walking down the aisle! I wanted to have my authentic reaction but definitely didn't want to ruin my makeup (LOL) and "ugly cry" down the aisle. When the time finally came, the doors of the chapel opened, and I saw my groom, a feeling of peace washed over, and it felt like it was just us in the room! Wouldn't trade those butterflies for anything!
What wedding planning advice would you offer to couples who are currently planning their wedding? Hire a wedding planner/coordinator! Even the most detailed brides need some help the day of. Being able to trust your big day to someone else can be hard, but when you choose the right planner (and WE DID) you can step back from the detail and just enjoy your day!
Any tips on what to bring/pack for your wedding day? Snacks, snacks and snacks! Oh, and maybe some ibuprofen. #RehearsalDinner :)
