Bespoken's 2018 Gift Guide

Bespoken's 2018 Gift Guide

We love a good gift guide around here. Trying to come up with unique, thoughtful, and useful gifts is always something we look forward to, but we always find ourselves needing a little guidance. We figured if we love these guides so much, then our readers might also love them and find them helpful. We culled our favorite gift ideas into one big post for you. The beauty of some of these gifts is that they aren’t necessarily restricted to just holiday gifts… they can also be used as gifts for your bridesmaids, groomsmen, and parents. So without further ado… here’s our 2018 Gift Guide.

Wedding Welcome Bags

If you've ever gone out of town for a wedding, you likely love it when the bride and groom leave you a little welcome gift when you check-in. These wedding welcome bags are such a special touch, and if done correctly, will tie in with the rest of your wedding. Plus, your out-of-town guests will love them and feel super appreciated for traveling to come celebrate with you!

One of the things I get asked quite often by Bespoken Brides is for some advice on assembling wedding welcome bags, and today...I'm sharing that advice with everyone :)

  • Personalized tote bags (SO many out there! Check Etsy, Land's End, etc.)
  • Wine boxes (again...Etsy to the rescue)
  • Gift bags in your wedding colors
  • Pretty boxes (Target, Hobby Lobby, Etsy, Amazon)
  • Pretty baskets (Target, Hobby Lobby, Etsy, Amazon)
  • Pretty trays(Target, Hobby Lobby, Etsy, Amazon)

  • A map of the city of the wedding with special places and/or points of interest
  • A copy of your wedding weekend itinerary
  • A thank you note
  • Bottles of water
  • Snacks (Bonus points if they're local snacks!)
  • Small packets of ibuprofen (for post-wedding hangovers)
  • Small packets of tissue (for tears shed during your ceremony)
  • Gift card to local restaurant
  • Mints

If you are super busy, I would highly recommend looking into one of the following companies to design and assemble your wedding welcome bags/boxes! They do a beautiful job, and some will even deliver to your hotels for you.

Will You Be My Bridesmaid? Gift Ideas

Will you be my bridesmaid? Gift Box ideas

The girls who stand next to you on your big day are very important to you, and many brides are now opting to "propose" to their bridesmaids by asking them to be a part of their wedding in a creative way. Some are extravagant, some are simple, but almost all are super thoughtful. So for those of you looking for a little inspiration, I've rounded up some items I would consider putting in a "Will You Be My Bridesmaid?" box for all of my besties.

A Personalized Wine Label:  Buy a bottle of wine for each bridesmaid, and then order a personalized wine label. Adhere the wine label to each bottle of wine, and gift away! There are several of them out there for you to choose from, but I love these that I found on Etsy.

Nail Polish:  Buy each bridesmaid 1-2 colors of nail polish. You could give them something neutral or pink, or you could also give them colors that will match your wedding. A personal favorite of mine is Essie's Ballet Slippers.

A Cute Card:  Again, just like the wine labels, there are ton of these out there, so search what you like most. Personally, I like these:

A Pretty Planner:  Whether it's Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade, or another planner of your choosing, you could always buy a planner for each bridesmaid and write all of the important wedding dates in them prior to giving them to your girls.

Paint Chips or Fabric Swatches in Your Wedding Colors:  Drop by your local hardware store, and grab a few paint chip samples in your wedding colors for each bridesmaid. If you have a little extra money, you could go to your local fabric store, and purchase a few sample fabric swatches in your wedding colors instead. Add your colors to the bridesmaid box to give your girls a little inspiration and more excitement!

Other Ideas:

There you go! Gather all of your gifts (or give one simple item like the wine bottle with personalized label or planner), and arrange them in a wooden box, pretty decorative box, canvas tote, or basket.
