Your Wedding Design Team

One of the things we love about planning weddings is the role we get to play in terms of helping our brides and grooms create their design concept. Typically we help create an initial design concept based off of a client's wish list, likes, and dislikes. Once we have that concept curated, we're able to share it with the rest of the Design Team. The Design Team is made up of a handful of various wedding and event professionals...we cannot do it alone. It takes a village. So today we're briefly talking about who is on that team.

Floral Designer: This person offers a wide range of services. Not only do they design floral arrangements, but typically they have the ability to create and construct installations like floral chandeliers, arches, backdrops, and so many other items. There is a difference between a florist and a floral designer. A florist typically only provides bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc., and more often than not, this means they're typically a retail florist. A floral designer offers a much wider variety of services.

Rental Companies: Rental companies vary in the scope of their services and products. Most will offer chairs, tables, linens, and small props, but some will also offer tents, dance floors, staging, lighting, heating and cooling, etc.

Stationer and Invitation Designer: Your stationery, invitations, and paper goods should all be based on your overall design concept, so we consider your Stationer and Invitation Designer an integral part of your Design Team. Whether you've chosen custom or semi-custom invitations, we like to make sure that this person stays within your design concept while making everything uniquely you.

Event Designer: This professional helps create the overall design aesthetic while also helping to execute the actual vision. The Event Designer will take care of everything needed to completely transform a space (i.e., draping, lighting, flooring, tenting, florals, custom installs, etc.). Some wedding planners and floral designers will also serve as an event designer in some capacity.

Wedding Planner: Wedding and event planners offer so many different services and customize their services in various ways, so the amount of involvement in the design will depend on the planner's services. Some planners will connect you with the other design vendors that you need, while others will be very hands-on in the process and help you truly find the design professionals that will create the wedding of your dreams.

You may not have all of these professionals on your Design Team. It honestly depends on your needs, budget, location, and priorities. But if you're working with us for Full Planning, you will likely have the entire team working with you, as well.

Do you need help planning and designing your wedding or event? We'd love to chat!
