Your Wedding Playlist Cheat Sheet

Your Wedding Playlist Cheat Sheet.png

Creating your wedding playlist can be fun and, yet, overwhelming. There are so many songs to choose from. There are also several moments throughout your entire wedding that you will need to specify songs for, and today I'm giving you a quick little cheat sheet on those moments. While you may not need a specific song for some of these, you'll still want to provide general ideas or genres to your musicians or entertainment, and they can choose for you.

  • Prelude music/Seating of Guests (typically you'll suggest a genre to your Ceremony musicians)
  • Family Processional
  • Wedding Party Processional
  • Bride Processional
  • Songs During the Ceremony
  • Recessional
  • Cocktail Hour Music (typically you'll suggest a genre to your Band or DJ)
  • Introduction of the Wedding Party
  • Introduction of the Bride & Groom
  • First Dance
  • Father-Daughter Dance
  • Mother-Son Dance
  • Dinner Music (again, you'll typically suggest a genre to your Band or DJ)
  • Cake Cutting
  • Garter Toss
  • Bouquet Toss
  • Last Dance

And don't forget your "Do Not Play" list! This is a list of song you do not want your DJ or Band to play...even if someone requests it!

Have fun!
