When I first spoke to Karen on FaceTime about everything she was looking for in a wedding planner, I was thrilled with the ease of our conversation. She told me her and Niko’s story, and I knew I wanted to help them make their dream wedding a reality.

She wanted her wedding to be feminine and romantic, while incorporating meaningful touches. She wanted blush, gold, and champagne tones, while Niko wanted to make sure there were hints of orange to play homage to their alma mater, Clemson University. To honor Niko’s Puerto Rican heritage, the two opted to include handmade capias as a favor to each guest. Karen even secretly hired the Clemson mascot to make an appearance as a surprise to Niko! 

Despite threats of rain throughout the afternoon, Karen & Niko's wedding was beautiful and perfect. With gorgeous paper from Fat Cat Paperie, pretty florals from Willow Florals, and a beautiful venue in The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel and The Cliffs at Keowee Falls, this wedding was one for the books...complete with a rainbow...

One of my favorite things about prepping and planning for Karen and Niko’s wedding was creating their custom photo booth backdrop with Julie Dodds of Willow Florals and Jessica Barley of A Darling Day. We were thrilled when they saw the final product on the day of their wedding and saw how much they loved it.

The other favorite part of prepping and planning for their wedding was getting to know these two. Since they both live in New York, we never got to meet each other until the week of their wedding. There had been FaceTime sessions, phone calls, many emails, and many text messages. By the time their wedding week rolled around, I was over the moon excited to finally meet these two...and instead of letting professionalism take control, we gave each other big hugs. And that is what I love about Bespoken Brides.
